Cheval Blanc St-Barth seeks Kitchen Commis for Italian restaurant Langosteria. Full-time, fixed-term contract in Saint-Barthélemy.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Partie in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Execute preliminary mise-en-place tasks including peeling, cutting, washing, and receiving merchandise according to established protocols
- Participate in the preparation and elaboration of dishes whilst adhering closely to chef instructions and applying learned culinary techniques
- Plate and distribute prepared dishes with meticulous attention to presentation and plating guidelines
- Maintain all kitchen spaces and equipment to the highest standards, manage waste segregation and disposal, and comply rigorously with HACCP food safety protocols and House procedures
Qualifications
- BEP, CAP, or BAC PRO Cuisine qualification
- Knowledge of luxury hospitality or Michelin-starred restaurant operations
- First practical experience (internship or entry position) in a similar establishment
- HACCP food safety certification
- Mastery of fundamental culinary techniques
Skills
Experience
Entry-level experience with prior internship or apprenticeship in a luxury hospitality or fine dining establishment; alternatively, newly qualified from a culinary apprenticeship programme.
Education
BEP, CAP, or BAC PRO in Cuisine (or equivalent culinary certification).
