Cheval Blanc - Hotel Pitrizza (Porto Cervo) seeks a Junior Sommelier for a temporary on-site role delivering exceptional wine service.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver impeccable beverage and wine service in all outlets, guiding guests through pairings and recommendations to enhance the dining experience.
- Assist the Head Sommelier and F&B leadership in maintaining high luxury service standards (LQA) and seamless front-of-house operations.
- Maintain and update wine and beverage lists; ensure accurate sales records and support revenue opportunities through informed upselling.
- Monitor cellar and beverage-stock conditions daily — control temperature, rotation for aging, and appropriate storage procedures.
- Perform beverage service strictly according to established luxury procedures, including decanting and formal presentation standards.
- Support and coach service team members on beverage knowledge and on-floor execution during service.
- Adhere to and apply HACCP or equivalent food-safety and hygiene protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- WSET certification or equivalent diploma from a recognised sommelier school.
- Minimum five years' relevant experience in luxury hotel F&B or high‑end restaurant environments, preferably with international exposure.
- Demonstrable ability to organise and direct team activities efficiently during service.
- Fluent Italian and English; working knowledge of a third language (e.g. French) is an advantage.
- Presentable, guest-focused demeanour with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience
At least 5 years of progressive sommelier or beverage-service experience within luxury hotels or Michelin-level restaurants, ideally including roles with international clientele and exposure to premium wine programmes.
Education
WSET certification or equivalent sommelier diploma (required); formal hospitality training preferred.
