Cheval Blanc St-Barth seeks Director of Technical Services to manage luxury resort facilities and infrastructure in Saint Barthélemy.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure while ensuring regulatory compliance and optimal performance
- Lead and develop the technical team, providing daily guidance, performance management, and continuous professional development
- Coordinate technical interventions, manage external contractors and vendors, and maintain quality and safety standards across all operations
- Oversee capital improvement projects, renovations, and technical enhancement initiatives in coordination with internal teams and external partners
- Drive cost optimization initiatives, energy efficiency programs, and environmental sustainability commitments aligned with the company's ESG objectives
- Ensure the property operates with the highest safety standards, including fire safety, water treatment, HVAC, electrical systems, and plumbing
- Report to senior leadership on technical performance, maintenance budgets, and strategic facility initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of confirmed experience in a similar technical management role, preferably in luxury or high-end hospitality
- Advanced knowledge of building maintenance, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and fire safety protocols
- Proven experience leading and developing technical teams
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and vendors simultaneously
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Island or remote location experience is desirable
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of confirmed experience in a technical management role within high-end or luxury hospitality. Solid technical knowledge of building systems and installations. Experience in island or remote locations is advantageous.
Education
Technical certification or diploma in building systems, electrical engineering, HVAC, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience in luxury hospitality accepted.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Gustavia, Saint Barthélemy, French Overseas Departments and Territories.
