Chief Storekeeper at Cheval Blanc Seychelles—luxury resort seeks experienced inventory manager for full-time on-site role in Mahé.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ensure maximum security and controlled access to all storeroom areas and storage facilities
- Maintain storeroom cleanliness and verify optimal storage conditions including temperature, humidity, shelf life, and hygiene protocols
- Inspect incoming materials and verify quantities against purchase orders; identify and report discrepancies and substandard deliveries
- Organize and store received materials in designated locations according to classification and accessibility requirements
- Process store requisitions and authorize goods issuance only against approved requisition forms with proper signatures
- File and maintain all store issue documentation and goods receipt notes with accuracy
- Update inventory system daily on all items issued and received
- Monitor and maintain par stock levels based on occupancy levels and supply conditions
- Generate purchase orders for items based on minimum stock thresholds and consumption patterns
- Recommend optimal par stocking levels to senior management and purchasing departments
- Communicate with Purchasing Manager and department heads regarding slow-moving and non-moving inventory items
- Alert relevant stakeholders in writing of approaching expiration dates on perishable goods
- Conduct regular stock counts and participate in monthly physical inventory reconciliation
- Investigate inventory variances and enter month-end physical stock take data into Material Control system
- Prepare monthly consumption reports for all storage areas and verify accuracy
- Monitor and expedite delivery of pending purchase orders
- Generate reports on spoiled, damaged, or broken inventory items
- Maintain organized and hygienic conditions throughout the storeroom and storage areas
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in storeroom management or inventory operations within a hospitality, luxury, or similar controlled environment
- Proven expertise in inventory management systems and goods receipt procedures
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Knowledge of storage protocols for perishable and non-perishable items
- Ability to manage par stock levels and forecast inventory needs
- Competency in mathematical calculations and variance analysis
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with multiple departments
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in storeroom management, inventory operations, or materials control within a hospitality, luxury resort, or food and beverage environment. Experience with multi-category inventory (perishable and non-perishable goods) and computerized inventory systems is essential.
Education
Secondary education (GCSE/O-levels or equivalent); additional training or certification in inventory management, supply chain operations, or hospitality management is advantageous.
