Cheval Blanc seeks a Chef de Rang in Porto Cervo, Italy — temporary full‑time fine‑dining service position requiring luxury hospitality experience.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver attentive, polished table service that upholds Cheval Blanc’s LQA standards and enhances the guest experience from arrival to departure.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu, beverages and wine list and provide tailored, expert recommendations to guests.
  • Manage an assigned station efficiently: prepare and maintain mise en place, coordinate timing of courses and ensure seamless service flow.
  • Collaborate closely with the sommelier, Chef de Partie and wider F&B team to synchronise service and maintain high quality.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond discreetly to requests and resolve complaints with professionalism and tact.
  • Perform suggestive selling and discreet upselling/cross-selling to enhance guest experience and revenue.
  • Execute accurate billing and payment procedures, adhering to internal controls as well as HACCP and LQA protocols.
  • Build and sustain positive guest relationships that encourage loyalty and repeat visitation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as Chef de Rang or in an equivalent fine‑dining/front‑of‑house role within luxury hotels or upscale restaurants.
  • Deep knowledge of fine‑dining service techniques, dining room etiquette and gastronomic/wine products.
  • Proven ability in suggestive selling and upselling while maintaining discretion and service elegance.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem‑solving skills with a customer‑centric attitude.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts; commitment to discretion and professional presentation.
  • Fluent Italian and English; an additional language is an advantage.
