Cheval Blanc Saint-Barth seeks a Boutique Sales Associate in Saint Barthélemy. Contract role for an experienced luxury retail professional fluent in French and English.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Create an exceptional, personalised shopping experience for hotel guests and boutique visitors, embodying the brand's service standards at every touchpoint.
  • Welcome guests in the boutique, advise on product selection with deep knowledge of items and brands, and guide clients to purchase decisions with professionalism and discretion.
  • Anticipate guest needs and personalise recommendations to optimise conversion, basket size and long‑term client relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with the boutique and hotel teams to ensure smooth handover of guest information and continuity of service.
  • Maintain boutique presentation to the maison's visual and merchandising standards and ensure accurate stock rotation and replenishment.
  • Operate point‑of‑sale systems, process transactions and follow internal cash‑handling and administrative procedures (reservations, invoicing, reporting).

Qualifications

  • CAP / Bac professionnel in sales or equivalent vocational qualification, or BTS MCO / BTS NDRC (or equivalent commercial diploma).
  • Minimum three years' retail experience; prior experience in luxury or high‑end hospitality retail strongly preferred.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken; a third language is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: discretion, attention to detail, empathy and a service‑oriented demeanour.
  • Proven ability to analyse guest needs, adapt approach to clientele and close sales with tact and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with hotel and retail IT systems (experience with MICROS and Opera appreciated).
