Chaumet — Paris: Jewellery Design Assistant (Intern) to support the high‑jewellery design studio with Illustrator tracings, gouaches, CAD and presentation preparation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the studio designer on creative and high‑jewellery projects by producing technical tracings, hand drawings, gouaches and presentation mockups.
  • Produce precise Illustrator tracings from designers' sketches or photographs and clean up CAD‑generated tracings for production of gouaches and rapid renders.
  • Prepare 1:1 scale layouts and technical plates for gouache work and presentation boards.
  • Create traditional gouache paintings respecting maison standards; execute quick colour studies using markers, watercolor and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Scan, retouch and colour‑correct gouaches and quick renders; perform layout work for presentation files.
  • Contribute to collection development by producing research sketches, Photoshop montages, hand and digital tracings, basic CAD volumes and presentation visuals for design review.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a public or private art, design or jewellery school (student internship requirement); CAP and/or BAC acceptable.
  • Strong affinity for the visual arts, botanical motifs and a clear understanding of three‑dimensional volume.
  • Portfolio of design and illustration work is mandatory for application.
  • Previous experience participating in collection construction or creative studio projects (team‑based), not necessarily in jewellery.
  • Curious, collaborative and open‑minded with an ability to take direction from senior designers.

Experience

Entry‑level; suitable for a student or recent graduate with initial studio experience in collection research, illustration or CAD. Prior collaborative work in a design studio is preferred but not required.
