Chaumet (Paris) seeks a CAD Design & Prototyping Intern (Jewellery) — 6‑month internship at its Paris headquarters.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Produce physical prototypes and presentation maquettes: finish resins, mount resins and apply simulated stones to mimic settings.
  • Prepare and optimise 3D files for prototyping and ensure correct data for in‑house production.
  • Operate and maintain additive prototyping equipment (Phrozen, DWS, Raise) and associated post‑processing tools.
  • Support product development for high jewellery, jewellery and watch collections by integrating aesthetic, technical, budgetary, quality and timing constraints.
  • Assist in the definition and translation of design intent into manufacturable technical documentation and archive technical drawings, mockups and specifications.
  • Propose innovative technical solutions that respect jewellery-specific manufacturing processes and material constraints.

Qualifications

  • Experience in prototyping across technologies (additive manufacture, resin finishing and model assembly).
  • Practical experience with CAD modelling for jewellery (surfacic modelling preferred).
  • Proven initiative, curiosity, adaptability, autonomy, rigour and reliability.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset and proactive approach to technical challenges.
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with design teams and technical suppliers.

Experience

Early‑career: demonstrated hands‑on experience in prototyping and CAD modelling. Previous internships or projects in jewellery prototyping, product development or model‑making are advantageous; beginner profiles actively enrolled in relevant study programs are welcome.

Education

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in industrial design, jewellery design, product design, materials engineering or equivalent technical/creative discipline.
