Chanel Yorkdale Boutique seeks an Operations Assistant for Watches & Fine Jewelry. Permanent full-time role supporting inventory, quality assurance, and client experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain strong client relationships by responding to internal and external inquiries via telephone and email, and provide support on the sales floor including client welcome, gift wrapping, after-sales follow-up, and new collection presentations
- Lead quality control and inspection of all merchandise arriving into Canada, reporting on issues with both core and high-end collections
- Assist with inventory management processes including cycle counts, price changes, reticketing, and year-end inventory reconciliation
- Proactively manage inventory shrink and maintain inventory integrity through proper documentation and procedures
- Lead all domestic allocations and transfers from Yorkdale to other boutiques, ensuring proper documentation for international deliveries including B13As, Proformas, and Brinks deliveries
- Reconcile and balance daily invoices based on the boutique; create, maintain, and manage all boutique invoices through the COUPA system
- Oversee and ensure compliance of customer-owned goods, international deliveries, Chanel et Moi repairs, consignment, and personal shopping guidance
- Maintain document retention according to guidelines and be an expert on Chanel Boutique Standard Operating Procedures and WFJ procedures
- Ensure adequate stock of boutique supplies, packaging, tools, and visual merchandising materials; order as necessary
- Inspect and maintain a clean and well-organized boutique, including heart of house areas, in partnership with boutique management
- Respond to inter-boutique transfer requests in a timely manner using appropriate tools
- Support spare parts and accessories ordering according to guidelines, and partner with boutique management on staff uniform ordering and allocation
- Coach and support heart of house team members, and actively participate in professional development and change management initiatives
- Adhere to CHANEL Charter dress code, grooming, and conduct guidelines at all times
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of retail operations and/or stock management experience
- Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and logistics procedures
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and retail software
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to lift approximately 15–20 lbs regularly
- Fluent in English; French language skills are a plus
- Customer experience orientation with a detail-oriented mindset
- Comfort working collaboratively across multiple departments and teams
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years in retail operations and stock management, with demonstrated proficiency in shipping, receiving, and inventory control within a luxury retail or similar fast-paced environment.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business administration, retail operations, or related field is preferred.
