Chanel Watch Repair Artisan position in Piscataway, NJ: luxury timepiece servicing and restoration role offering $28-$42/hr.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical inspection, testing, and diagnosis of Chanel watches, identifying mechanical and functional issues
- Execute watch repairs adhering to Maison quality standards and established procedures, including battery service, maintenance, and total revision of mechanical and quartz movements
- Conduct disassembly, assessment, repair, cleaning, oiling, and assembly of mechanical watch movements
- Clean and polish internal and external watch components, including basic 18K gold polishing work
- Complete testing and quality control of all repaired watches, including verification of time accuracy, beat error, amplitude, power reserve, and water resistance
- Monitor repair lead times and communicate potential delays to management and workshop coordinators
- Update diagnostic and repair data in the claims management system, tracking spare parts consumption for each service
- Select and prepare parts and components required for repairs; support inventory control and replenishment of spare parts and materials
- Suggest optional repairs and maintenance services to extend the life and aesthetic appearance of client timepieces
- Communicate final diagnoses and technical quotations to workshop coordinators
- Share technical watchmaking knowledge with team members and complete technical training provided by regional trainers
- Report authenticity concerns and quality issues encountered during repairs to management
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures for workshop efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain a clean, well-organized repair workshop including work areas, equipment, and tools
- Ensure compliance with global guidelines and proactively implement enhancements to improve efficiency and productivity
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of proven experience repairing luxury timepieces, including diagnostics and battery replacement
- Advanced competency in repairing mechanical movements, automatic chronographs, and quartz movements
- Formal training in watchmaking or equivalent hands-on experience
- Demonstrated expertise with 18K gold polishing and precious metal finishing
- Proficiency with watch repair equipment and ability to perform basic maintenance on machinery
- Proficiency with computer systems and data entry for claims management and project tracking
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds regularly
Skills
Experience
5+ years of professional experience in luxury watch repair, encompassing mechanical and quartz movement servicing, diagnostics, battery replacement, and precious metal finishing work. Demonstrated expertise in performing complete watch overhauls and maintaining high quality standards in a luxury brand environment.
Education
Formal training in watchmaking, horology, or equivalent professional certification; or equivalent hands-on experience in a recognized watch repair workshop.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 28 to USD 42 per hour.
