Chanel seeks a Visual Merchandising Specialist in Palo Alto to lead boutique displays, window concepts and brand‑consistent store presentations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Translate global and regional visual merchandising directives into compelling in-store executions and seasonal window concepts for the Palo Alto boutique.
- Design, plan and install internal displays, mannequins, fixtures and props ensuring strict adherence to Chanel brand standards and visual guidelines.
- Develop and maintain planograms, merchandising layouts and floor plans that optimise product presentation and sales performance.
- Coordinate with store management, retail operations and regional VM teams to schedule installations, refreshes and seasonal transitions with minimal disruption to sales.
- Source, procure and manage display materials, props and signage within budget while preserving aesthetic and quality requirements.
- Train boutique staff on display maintenance, visual standards and styling techniques; perform regular store audits and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with buying, marketing and store operations on product launches, events and client-facing activations to ensure visual alignment.
- Manage external vendors and installers, supervising execution quality and timelines during large installs or window builds.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of visual merchandising or retail display experience, preferably within a luxury fashion or premium beauty brand.
- Proven experience designing and executing window displays and boutique installations to exacting brand standards.
- Strong spatial awareness and ability to translate two-dimensional concepts into three-dimensional retail environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including cross-functional collaboration with retail, buying and marketing teams.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate store schedules and installation timelines, including occasional weekends.

Experience
Mid-level retail visual merchandising professional with demonstrated boutique-level experience in luxury or premium retail environments. Experience should include concept development, fixture and prop management, and hands-on installation of seasonal and promotional displays.
Education
Associate degree or diploma in visual merchandising, fashion design, retail display, interior design or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
