CHANEL is hiring a Visual Merchandising Specialist for its Neiman Marcus Fashion Island boutique in Newport Beach. The role oversees boutique visual standards, window and floor merchandising, display logistics, and photographic documentation, requiring at least 2 years of similar or higher-level experience and an associate degree or comparable art- or fashion-related study. The anticipated annual base salary is $68,600–$90,000.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee the coordination of visual merchandising standards in the boutique during business hours and events.
- Supervise, with the Visual Lead, the implementation and maintenance of visual merchandising guidelines, including window installations and the proper setup and use of fixtures, selling tools, and mannequins.
- Communicate and oversee visual merchandising direction, animations, and guidelines with Image Ambassadors and boutique management.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with boutique management teams to ensure merchandise initiatives are maintained and business needs are met.
- Coordinate the movement and storage of display elements with the Visual Merchandise Manager.
- Maintain appropriate merchandising of windows and selling floors in accordance with guidelines between floor sets, window installations, and collection launches.
- Photograph the entire boutique after floor and window sets in accordance with visual merchandising photo guidelines, for maintenance and submission to the Global Image Team; update photographs in Dropbox whenever boutique changes are made.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, take ownership of projects, and deliver timely results.
Qualifications
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and work collaboratively.
- Understanding of and passion for client experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Foreign language skills preferred but not required.
- Passion for the House of CHANEL, its history, product offerings, and commitment to social and cultural initiatives.
- Curiosity and desire to learn and grow professionally within the world of CHANEL.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email, such as Outlook.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fashion styling, merchandising, and visual display.
- Experience working with digital photography and using phone applications to execute projects.
- Minimum associate degree in Display and Exhibition Design or a comparable art- or fashion-related course of study.
- At least 2 years in a similar or higher position, preferably with a luxury brand.
- High level of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with clients, employees, and management.
- Ability to move heavy items, including overhead lifting, pulling, and pushing items up to 25 lbs.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work late nights, weekends, and some holidays.
