Chanel Visual Merchandising Specialist role in New York, NY. Oversee boutique visual standards, window displays, and brand presentation in this full-time luxury retail position.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Communicate and oversee all appropriate visual merchandising direction, animations, and guidelines to Image Ambassadors and boutique management teams
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Boutique Management to ensure all merchandise initiatives are properly maintained and business needs are met
  • Coordinate the movement, storage, and deployment of display elements in conjunction with the Visual Merchandise Manager
  • Ensure windows and selling floors are appropriately merchandised on a regular basis following visual merchandising guidelines between floor sets, window installations, and collection launches
  • Photograph entire boutique after floor and window sets according to visual merchandising photo guidelines, update imagery in Dropbox with each change, and submit documentation to the Global Image Team
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of projects and delivering timely results
  • Supervise the implementation and maintenance of all visual merchandising guidelines including proper setup and use of fixtures, selling tools, and mannequins

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associate degree in Display and Exhibition Design or comparable Art/Fashion related course of study
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position or higher, preferably with a luxury brand
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fashion styling, merchandising, and visual display
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email (Outlook)
  • Ability to work with digital photography and use phone applications to execute projects
  • High level of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with clients, employees, and management
  • Able to move heavy items including overhead lifting, pulling, and pushing of items up to 25 lbs
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work late nights, weekends, and select holidays
  • Full-time in-store and in-person presence required

Experience

Minimum 2 years of professional experience in visual merchandising, display coordination, or a similar retail visual role, preferably within the luxury sector. Experience managing window installations, floor sets, and maintaining brand visual standards across multiple locations is highly valued.

Education

Minimum Associate degree in Display and Exhibition Design, Visual Arts, Fashion Design, or a related Art or Fashion discipline.
