CHANEL seeks a Visual Merchandising Manager dedicated to one boutique in a lighthouse market, leading the boutique VM team and translating strategic directives into polished, client-centric environments. The role works closely with boutique leadership, operates with substantial autonomy and may support US launches outside the home market; flexible scheduling and travel are required. Anticipated annual base salary is $92,400–$115,000, with potential variable pay, bonus, benefits and perks.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute all visual merchandising activities for one boutique in a lighthouse market, ensuring the timely and consistent implementation of brand directives.
  • Own, maintain and continuously elevate the boutique image, upholding impeccable presentation standards across all client-facing areas.
  • Manage, guide and develop the boutique visual merchandising team, setting clear priorities, accountability and consistent ways of working.
  • Translate visual merchandising directives and strategic guidance into engaging, client-centric displays relevant to the boutique and aligned with the CHANEL brand vision.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on directive implementation, execution opportunities and boutique-specific needs.
  • Partner with boutique leadership and staff to align visual merchandising execution with sales priorities, client needs and broader business goals.
  • Assess changing business needs, adapt visual solutions and realign activities while protecting brand standards.
  • Facilitate visual merchandising training, morning meeting briefs and ongoing visual education for boutique teams.
  • Identify and respond quickly to boutique-specific opportunities, using sound judgment and resourcefulness to deliver effective solutions.
  • Take personal responsibility for the boutique’s visual appearance, execution quality and readiness.
  • Maintain impeccable visual standards and a keen eye for detail, presentation quality and overall boutique coherence.
  • Communicate proactively with boutique staff, boutique leadership and visual merchandising leadership; build alignment through clear, constructive communication.
  • Implement feedback quickly, adapt as priorities change and support a positive, collaborative, solutions-oriented boutique environment.
  • Support US launches outside the home market as business needs require.
  • Travel by airplane, train and automobile as needed; maintain a valid driver’s license and passport, a reliable car for local travel, and car insurance where applicable.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends or overnights, to support visual installations and business needs.
  • Stand for extended periods and lift and move visual merchandising materials as needed, in accordance with applicable policies and accommodations; lift 30–40 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated visual merchandising experience, ideally in luxury retail, fashion, beauty or a similarly client-centric environment.
  • Experience leading, developing or coordinating a visual merchandising team in a boutique or comparable retail environment.
  • Strong boutique-level execution skills and the ability to translate strategic direction into polished, commercially relevant visual solutions.
  • Collaborative communication style and the ability to build productive partnerships with boutique leadership and staff.
  • Proven initiative, sound judgment and a solutions-oriented approach to changing business needs and execution challenges.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and follow-through, with the ability to operate independently while remaining aligned with leadership.
  • Keen eye for detail and an uncompromising commitment to maintaining an elevated, consistent brand image.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends or overnights.
