CHANEL seeks a Visual Merchandising Manager dedicated to one boutique at South Coast Plaza, leading visual merchandising execution, the boutique VM team and the consistent expression of brand standards. The role partners with boutique leadership to deliver client-centric displays aligned with sales priorities and may require US travel, flexible hours and regular in-boutique presence.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute all visual merchandising activities at one boutique in a lighthouse market, ensuring timely and consistent implementation of brand directives.
  • Own, maintain and elevate the boutique image, upholding impeccable presentation standards across all client-facing areas.
  • Manage, guide and develop the boutique visual merchandising team, setting clear priorities, accountability and consistent ways of working.
  • Translate visual merchandising directives and strategic guidance into engaging, customer-centric displays suited to the boutique and aligned with CHANEL’s brand vision.
  • Provide timely, thoughtful feedback on directive implementation, execution opportunities and boutique-specific needs.
  • Partner with boutique leadership and staff to align visual merchandising with sales priorities, client needs and broader business goals.
  • Assess changing business needs, adapt visual solutions and realign activities while protecting brand standards.
  • Facilitate visual merchandising training, morning meeting briefs and ongoing visual education for boutique teams.
  • Identify and respond promptly to boutique-specific opportunities, applying sound judgment and resourcefulness to deliver effective solutions.
  • Take personal responsibility for the boutique’s visual appearance, execution quality and readiness.
  • Maintain impeccable visual standards, presentation quality, detail and overall boutique coherence.
  • Implement feedback quickly, adapt as priorities change and support a positive, collaborative, solutions-oriented boutique environment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated visual merchandising experience, ideally in luxury retail, fashion, beauty or a similarly client-centric environment.
  • Experience leading, developing or coordinating a visual merchandising team in a boutique or comparable retail environment.
  • Strong boutique-level execution skills and the ability to translate strategic direction into polished, commercially relevant visual solutions.
  • Highly collaborative communication style and ability to build productive partnerships with boutique leadership and staff.
  • Proven initiative, sound judgment and a solutions-oriented approach to changing business needs and execution challenges.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and follow-through, with the ability to operate independently while maintaining alignment with leadership.
  • Keen eye for detail and an uncompromising commitment to an elevated, consistent brand image.
  • Ability to support US launches outside the home market as business needs require.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends or overnights, to support visual installations and business needs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move visual merchandising materials in accordance with applicable policies and accommodations; must be able to lift 30–40 lbs.
  • Ability to travel by airplane, train and automobile, with a valid driver’s license and passport, a reliable car for local travel, and car insurance where applicable.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 92,400 to USD 115,000 per annum.
