Chanel Tokyo seeks a Visual Merchandising Coordinator to oversee in-store displays, window installations and brand presentation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Translate global visual merchandising directives into executable store-level concepts and oversee consistent implementation across Tokyo retail locations.
- Plan, design and supervise window displays, in-store sets and seasonal thematic rollouts that reinforce brand positioning and optimise customer engagement.
- Coordinate installation schedules, manage prop and fixture inventories, and liaise with store management and external vendors to ensure timely, on-budget execution.
- Produce detailed planograms, installation diagrams and visual briefs; supervise on-site installations and sign-off to maintain visual standards.
- Collaborate with store operations, clienteling, marketing and e-commerce teams to align merchandising, promotional windows and photography needs.
- Monitor store-level compliance, perform visual audits and deliver training or coaching to retail teams on display standards and maintenance.
- Manage small project budgets, source and specify materials and advise on fabrication, lighting and signage solutions to optimise presentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in visual merchandising, fashion, interior design, set design or related discipline (or demonstrable professional experience).
- Demonstrable portfolio of retail displays, window installations or set designs within fashion, luxury retail or related sectors.
- Proven experience coordinating multi-site rollouts and managing third-party fabricators or vendors.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects and tight retail timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with experience training or guiding store teams.
