CHANEL is seeking a Visual Merchandising Associate for its Saks New York boutique to maintain the brand image, support selling-floor activity and deliver an elevated client experience. The role reports to the Boutique Director, with a dotted line to the Regional Visual Merchandising Manager, and requires full-time, in-store presence with schedule flexibility for late nights, weekends and some holidays.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain the boutique’s brand image, elevate the client experience and facilitate the selling process.
- Support Fashion Advisors by promptly changing mannequins, retrieving and replenishing merchandise from the selling floor, and substituting display pieces when products are needed for clients.
- Serve as the store’s visual merchandising contact when the VM Lead is working on other projects, during corporate holidays and on weekends.
- Support the Operations team with product preparation for floor moves and collection launches, including P-touching display items.
- Update digital photo files for visual merchandising maintenance as displays change.
- Keep window-item documentation, including SKU, price and size, current for the selling team.
- Assist with implementing events, sale and seasonal installations, corporate events, and other business-driving initiatives in the boutique.
- Communicate effectively with the boutique selling team and management.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Thrive in a team environment and work collaboratively.
- Understand and demonstrate a passion for client experience.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Foreign-language skills are preferred but not required.
- Demonstrate passion for the House of CHANEL, its history, product offerings, and commitment to social and cultural initiatives.
- Show curiosity and a desire to learn and grow professionally within CHANEL.
- Have basic knowledge of retail operations, display and merchandising.
- Have experience with basic computer software and digital photography.
- Be able to work on a ladder and lift 30–40 lb.
- Be able to move heavy items, including overhead lifting, pulling and pushing items up to 25 lb.
- Be available for a flexible schedule, including late nights, weekends and some holidays.
- Be present in-store and in person full-time to support client sales and service and drive business results.
