Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke alterations and couture finishings for VIP clients at the 57th Street flagship boutique, ensuring impeccable fit and preservation of the garment's design intent.
- Conduct private fittings and measurements, advise clients on alteration options and timelines, and manage multiple concurrent appointments with discretion.
- Execute advanced hand-sewing, hemming, pattern modification and structural adjustments using couture techniques and industrial equipment where appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with boutique Client Advisors and the in-house atelier or external production partners to coordinate complex repairs, bespoke requests and delivery schedules.
- Maintain rigorous quality-control standards, perform final inspections and prepare garments for collection or delivery with couture-level presentation.
- Manage alteration records, measurement logs and client preferences in accordance with boutique procedures; safeguard client confidentiality at all times.
- Oversee inventory of alteration supplies and materials, and recommend procurement needs to ensure uninterrupted service.
Qualifications
- Professional training in tailoring, couture, or garment construction, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years' experience performing alterations in a luxury, couture, or high-end retail environment (or equivalent atelier experience).
- Proven mastery of hand-sewing, couture finishing techniques, pattern alteration and fittings for complex garments.
- Exceptional client-facing skills with proven discretion and the ability to manage expectations of high-profile clientele.
- Superior attention to detail, excellent time management and the ability to prioritise multiple bespoke requests without compromising quality.

Experience
At least three years of professional alterations/tailoring experience, ideally gained within a luxury retail flagship, couture atelier, or high-end bespoke tailoring environment, with a demonstrable track record serving VIP clients.
Education
Vocational certification in tailoring or garment construction preferred; equivalent professional atelier experience will be accepted.
