Chanel seeks a VIP Alterations Specialist in Beverly Hills for luxury garment alterations, $38–$45/hour, full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute high-quality alterations on ready-to-wear and haute couture garments, including hemming, mending, lengthening, and seam adjustments
- Fit garments on VIP clients to determine alteration specifications and ensure proper proportioning
- Maintain mastery of Chanel-specific alteration techniques, fabrication knowledge, and luxury garment styling through dedicated training
- Create reversible alterations that preserve garment integrity without permanent cutting
- Communicate with the VIP relations team globally and locally to determine client specifications, preferences, and needs
- Uphold production standards and delivery timelines while ensuring the ultimate Chanel experience for VIP clientele
- Ensure all sewing machines and equipment remain in proper working order and maintain pressing standards
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding VIP clients, publicists, agents, stylists, managers, and assistants
- Mentor junior alterations staff and co-animate technical training sessions during slower business periods
- Contribute to evaluation of potential future alterations team members when required
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment
- Mastery of both tailoring and flou (drapery) techniques
- Advanced proficiency in specialty skills such as leather work, knits, double-face fabrics, beading, and fine buttonholes
- Sound knowledge of various luxury fabrics and advanced sewing techniques
- Demonstrated ability to work under time constraints and meet strict production deadlines
- Exceptional detail orientation and quality control standards
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to lift and carry items up to 20 pounds regularly

Minimum 5 years of professional alterations experience in a luxury retail environment, with demonstrated expertise in executing alterations on premium and haute couture garments. Proven track record of managing VIP clientele and maintaining exceptional service standards in a fast-paced boutique setting.
