Chanel in Paris seeks a Trainee Generalist Legal Counsel (work‑study) to support manufactories on contracts, IP and compliance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the legal team advising internal stakeholders across manufactories and ateliers on contracts, procurement and supplier relationships.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial, manufacturing and service agreements, templates and NDAs under senior supervision.
- Assist with intellectual property clearance, trademark monitoring and enforcement matters related to product manufacturing and distribution.
- Contribute to compliance and regulatory monitoring, including supplier due diligence and support for audits.
- Coordinate with external counsel and internal functions (operations, quality, procurement, HR) to resolve disputes or regulatory queries.
- Prepare legal memoranda, risk analyses, contract summaries and working documents for project teams.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a recognised French law programme (Master 1 or Master 2) or equivalent work‑study degree.
- Knowledge of French corporate, commercial and intellectual property law.
- Strong drafting and analytical skills; rigorous attention to detail.
- Ability to work bilingually in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment and adapt to operational stakeholders.

Work‑study or internship experience in a law firm or in‑house legal team preferred; typically 0–12 months relevant internship experience is acceptable for an alternance candidate.
Education
Currently enrolled in a Master 1 or Master 2 in Law (or equivalent) and eligible for a French alternance/work‑study contract.
