Chanel in Paris seeks a Trainee Generalist Legal Counsel (work‑study) to support manufactories on contracts, IP and compliance.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the legal team advising internal stakeholders across manufactories and ateliers on contracts, procurement and supplier relationships.
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial, manufacturing and service agreements, templates and NDAs under senior supervision.
  • Assist with intellectual property clearance, trademark monitoring and enforcement matters related to product manufacturing and distribution.
  • Contribute to compliance and regulatory monitoring, including supplier due diligence and support for audits.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and internal functions (operations, quality, procurement, HR) to resolve disputes or regulatory queries.
  • Prepare legal memoranda, risk analyses, contract summaries and working documents for project teams.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a recognised French law programme (Master 1 or Master 2) or equivalent work‑study degree.
  • Knowledge of French corporate, commercial and intellectual property law.
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills; rigorous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work bilingually in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment and adapt to operational stakeholders.
