Chanel technical developer for metal notions, ready-to-wear; Paris-based, full-time, managing industrialization and supplier partnerships.
Role & Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate metal notions and processes (tin casting, FCP, PVD, galvanoplating, etc.) from suppliers, tracking samples and industrial versions in collaboration with product managers
- Ensure assembly feasibility of garments and pilot supplier refinements to meet luxury ready-to-wear standards
- Conduct risk analyses during the collection development phase in close coordination with technical developers
- Validate process optimization prototypes and pre-series in accordance with CHANEL specifications
- Provide Quality teams with comprehensive technical deliverables (technical drawings, specifications, process constraints, critical control points) to establish appropriate testing benches and control methodologies
- Serve as the principal technical liaison for the Materials & Notions Quality Service on metal notions matters
- Integrate technical specifications and continuous improvement initiatives into component design
- Prioritize and authorize industrialization and production approvals based on delivery milestones
- Compile technical drawings and specifications into production-ready documentation, ensuring data consistency and reliability
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in technical development, industrialization, production, quality, or as a technical specialist or industrialization engineer for metal components
- In-depth expertise in metal notions and related materials: tin casting, FCP, PVD coating, galvanoplating, stainless steel, metal injection molding (MIM), crimping, fasteners, material-notions compatibility, resin, glass
- Comprehensive knowledge of physico-mechanical and regulatory testing requirements for metal haberdashery
- Strong understanding of collection calendars and seasonal production rhythms
- Proficiency with digital tools (PLM, Orli, Power BI)
- Product sensitivity and familiarity with fashion and fine jewelry sectors
- Proven autonomy, precision, attention to detail, communication and negotiation skills, intellectual curiosity, proactivity, and adaptability
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years in technical development, industrialization, production quality assurance, or technical roles managing metal component manufacturing, with demonstrated expertise in metal notions, fasteners, and accessory engineering within luxury or high-precision manufacturing environments.
Education
Master's degree (Bac +5) from an engineering school or equivalent advanced technical qualification in textile, mechanical engineering, or industrialization.
Workplace
