Role & Responsibilities
- Formalize internal requirements and draft comprehensive technical specifications, product datasheets, and engineering drawings for metal components
- Define assembly methods and manufacturing procedures; establish and implement tooling and process qualification plans
- Validate technical drawings submitted by suppliers and oversee industrial tooling development to ensure alignment with aesthetic, cost, timeline, and quality objectives
- Provide technical support and audit supplier processes to guarantee compliance with Chanel standards
- Identify and champion innovations in materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies such as 3D printing
- Qualify metal components and coordinate closely with Quality, internal laboratories, and supplier teams
- Participate in risk identification, analysis, and mitigation at each key collection milestone
- Maintain and populate internal risk management tools and reduction plans
- Validate components on prototypes and pre-production series; identify, document, and resolve deviations from specifications
- Manage technical approvals (OK techniques) across internal stakeholders
- Support the Quality Engineer for metal components on component duplication to ensure overall consistency
- Provide handover support to Accessories Quality Control, including delivery of masters, drawings, and validation documentation
- Collaborate with the Metal Components Development Project Manager to ensure manufacturability and technical feasibility
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Microtechnics
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in technical development of metal components
- Demonstrated expertise in metal manufacturing processes: assembly, welding, machining, stamping, electroplating, and galvanoplasty
- Proficiency in industrial design principles and cost engineering (component pricing, tooling costs)
- Advanced proficiency in Fusion 360 and Rhinoceros 3D CAD software
- Mastery of industrial drawing standards and technical specification documentation
- Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities with Development, Quality, Procurement, and Production teams
- Excellent supplier relationship management and communication skills
- Experience in the luxury fashion or high-end accessories sector is highly preferred

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in technical development of metal components, ideally within the luxury fashion or high-end accessories sector. Proven track record managing supplier relationships, developing metal parts across assembly, welding, machining, stamping, and electroplating processes. Demonstrated expertise in industrial costing and an acute aesthetic sensibility aligned with luxury craftsmanship standards.
Education
Master's degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Microtechnics, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
