Chanel Alternance Alteration Assistant Couturier position in Paris; one-year couture apprenticeship starting September 2024.
Role & Responsibilities
- Learn to execute alterations from alteration instruction sheets and oral briefs from the fitter-alteration specialist
- Carefully review alteration work orders, including couture specifications and customer information (context, constraints)
- Interpret pin placement and garment fit adjustments
- Prepare alteration steps with assistance from the fitter-alteration specialist as needed
- Verify each stage of the alteration by testing the garment on a mannequin to ensure proper fit
- Perform initial quality control checks on completed alterations
- Press and present the finished garment to the Fitter-Alteration Specialist for final quality inspection
- Participate in boutique meetings (morning briefings, plenaries) to understand the maison's objectives and boutique operations
- Embody Chanel's codes and values as an ambassador of the house
