Chanel Tailor position at Harrods, London. Permanent full-time role specializing in luxury garment alterations and client experiences.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct meticulous alterations and repairs on both simple and structured garments, ensuring invisible, precise results that maintain design integrity
- Take precise measurements, pin garments, and recommend alterations in keeping with CHANEL's codes and collection guidelines
- Collaborate with Fashion Advisors during fittings and sales ceremonies to deliver a seamless, personalized luxury client journey
- Assess each garment thoroughly, identify necessary adjustments, and execute alterations while preserving the creative intent of the studio
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully equipped tailor shop with tools and supplies in optimal condition
- Record and track all alteration activities using CHANEL's after-sales platforms and procedures
- Perform rigorous quality checks to guarantee precision, cleanliness, and impeccable craftsmanship on all completed work
- Coordinate alteration workflow, manage timelines, and communicate clearly with boutique staff and management
- Participate in morning briefs to share expertise and disseminate collection-specific information to the team
- Foster lasting relationships with clients through attentive, empathetic service and expert guidance on garment care and maintenance
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' proven experience as a tailor in luxury fashion
- Deep knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and design principles
- Technical mastery in operating sewing machines and overlockers with precision
- Exceptional craftsmanship with outstanding sewing and finishing skills
- Impeccable attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate seamlessly with clients and colleagues
- Demonstrated commitment to exceptional service standards
- Organizational excellence with effective time management and creative problem-solving abilities

Experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a tailor in the luxury fashion sector, with demonstrated expertise in conducting complex alterations on high-end collections and establishing lasting client relationships through personalized service.
