Chanel seeks a Supplier Accounts Payable Manager in Paris to lead AP operations, controls and supplier relationships.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the supplier accounts payable team, including recruitment, coaching and performance management.
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable activities: invoice processing, payment runs, vendor statement reconciliation and dispute resolution.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close deliverables related to supplier liabilities and accruals.
- Maintain and strengthen internal control framework for payables; own SOX and internal audit preparation and remediation where applicable.
- Collaborate with procurement, treasury and tax to optimise payment terms, cash flow forecasting and VAT compliance.
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Prepare management reporting and KPIs for supplier liabilities, days payable outstanding (DPO) and ageing analysis.
- Oversee supplier master-data governance, onboarding controls and segregation of duties compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing an accounts payable function in a corporate or multinational environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge applied to payables, accruals and supplier reconciliations.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring internal controls and supporting external/internal audits.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate a small team and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on process optimisation and operational excellence.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders and complex workflows.
Skills
Experience
Typically 5+ years in accounts payable or general accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a corporate or multinational environment. Experience in luxury goods, retail or fast-moving international organisations is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
