Chanel is hiring a Supplier Accounts Payable Manager in Paris — lead AP operations, ensure payables integrity and drive process automation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the supplier accounts payable function, ensuring timely, accurate processing of supplier invoices and credit notes.
  • Oversee monthly and year‑end close activities related to payables, including accruals, reconciliations and balance‑sheet controls.
  • Manage supplier reconciliations and resolve aging discrepancies through proactive liaison with procurement, warehouses and suppliers.
  • Control and optimize payment runs, bank file preparation and cash scheduling in coordination with treasury.
  • Maintain and enforce internal controls, SOX/compliance requirements and accounting policies applicable to supplier accounting.
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives (e‑invoicing, AP workflow, ERP optimisation) to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coach, develop and allocate tasks for the AP team; ensure adequate training, performance reviews and workload balance.
  • Act as the primary contact for external audits and tax authorities concerning supplier accounting matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent; advanced degree or professional accounting credential (DCG/ACCA/CMA) preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of French accounting standards (Plan Comptable Général) and strong awareness of IFRS implications for payables.
  • Proven ability to design and maintain robust internal control frameworks and to support external audit procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder‑management skills; comfortable working with procurement, treasury and operational teams.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with a commitment to continuous process refinement and automation.

Skills

SAP FI Microsoft Excel (advanced) Oracle E-Business Suite AP automation / e-invoicing platforms (e.g., Coupa, Basware) Account reconciliations and month‑end close procedures

Experience

Minimum of 5 years' hands‑on experience in accounts payable or supplier accounting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity; experience within luxury goods, retail or a multinational corporate finance environment is advantageous.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; professional accounting qualifications (DCG, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) are an asset.
