Chanel (Paris) seeks a Contract Stain‑Removal & Garment Pressing Technician (CDD) for the La Sirène finishing workshop.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform targeted stain removal (detaching) and preparatory treatments for a wide range of luxury textiles and garments.
- Operate steam irons, finishing presses and ancillary finishing equipment to deliver couture‑level pressing and hand‑finish work.
- Inspect garments at each stage for quality, ensuring seams, finishes and silhouettes meet maison standards.
- Select and apply fabric‑appropriate treatments and chemicals while respecting product safety and conservation requirements.
- Maintain and perform basic upkeep on pressing and finishing equipment; report faults to maintenance.
- Organize workflow to meet production schedules for the La Sirène finishing workshop; record treatments and status of items.
- Adhere to strict health, safety and hygiene protocols, and to internal handling procedures for delicate/leather items.
Qualifications
- Vocational qualification in textile care, dry‑cleaning, laundry or an equivalent technical certificate preferred (e.g., CAP/BEP in related field) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to treat and finish delicate and high‑value fabrics (silk, wool, cashmere, leather) without compromise to appearance.
- Excellent manual dexterity, visual acuity and meticulous attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of textile care symbols, stain chemistry and appropriate solvent use.
- Capacity to work on a fixed‑term CDD contract with flexibility to meet production needs and occasional overtime.
Skills
Experience
1–3 years of hands‑on experience in garment finishing, professional dry‑cleaning, industrial laundry or couture pressing; prior exposure to luxury fashion ateliers or haute couture restoration is highly desirable.
Education
Vocational certificate in textile care/dry‑cleaning/laundry (e.g., CAP, BEP) preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted.
