Chanel is hiring a Sr Manager, Data Management & Enablement in Seoul to lead data governance, MDM and business enablement for retail and digital operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and operationalise the global data management and enablement strategy to support retail, e‑commerce and corporate functions in the APAC region.
- Establish and govern master data management (MDM), metadata and data catalog processes, ensuring data quality, lineage and stewardship across systems and business domains.
- Lead a cross‑functional programme to onboard and train business users, enabling self‑service analytics and consistent data usage through playbooks, toolkits and workshops.
- Partner with IT, digital, merchandising and retail leadership to translate business requirements into scalable data models, integrations and governance controls.
- Select and manage third‑party vendors and platform partners; drive implementation of data platforms, catalogs and governance tooling.
- Design KPIs and SLAs for data quality, completeness and timeliness; monitor compliance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and mentor a small team of data stewards, analysts and enablement specialists; allocate resources and set performance objectives.
- Communicate programme progress and risks to senior stakeholders and influence cross‑functional adoption through executive reporting and change management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in data governance, master data management or data enablement programmes within retail, luxury goods, fashion or consumer goods.
- Strong stakeholder management and change‑management capabilities, with experience influencing senior business and IT leaders.
- Familiarity with data protection and privacy frameworks relevant to APAC markets (e.g., GDPR, local data protection requirements).
- Experience managing vendor relationships and delivering enterprise data platform implementations.
Skills
Experience
Typically 7+ years in data management, analytics or related roles, with at least 3 years leading programmes or teams; prior experience in retail, consumer goods or luxury preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or related discipline; Master’s degree is advantageous.
