Chanel seeks a Senior Manager, Commercial Development in New York to lead Multi-Brand Retail wholesale accounts for Fragrance & Beauty across omni-channel platforms. Base salary $87,500–$135,000.
Role & Responsibilities
- Act as primary point of contact for several major retail accounts, owning business performance and relationship for Fragrance & Beauty with each account
- Develop and lead execution of short- and long-term strategic plans for specified retailer accounts
- Partner with leadership to evaluate opportunities and evolve the business, including new ways of working and leading large, cross-functional project teams
- Create targeted programs in partnership with client intelligence and retail partners
- Develop seasonal, customized omni-channel marketing account strategies inclusive of advertising, visual presence, and e-retail initiatives
- Serve as key internal point person for account optimization and growth, demonstrating strong understanding of account nuances, requirements, limitations, programs, and P&L literacy
- Independently manage day-to-day communication and relationship with retail accounts
- Create presentations for both external (retailer executive and merchant teams) and internal (senior leadership) stakeholders
- Champion recommendations that ensure internal media and external brand activities align with overall brand objectives
- Serve as strategic lead for market touchpoints, owning retailer presentations and follow-up
- Establish strong relationships with field teams and lead respective account cohorts
- Facilitate alignment between internal cross-functional teams including Marketing, Planning, Retail Store Environment, eRetail, Client Intelligence, and Client Experience
- Contribute to strategy development across MBR distribution with a strong sense of ownership and ability to see the big picture in driving image and profitability
- Represent the Chanel brand with deep knowledge and understanding of its values and drivers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Prior direct external account or brand management and negotiations experience required
- Prior experience with data analysis and high comfort level with senior-management level presentations both internally and externally
- Prior experience with digital marketing and/or CRM strategy (significant plus)
- Prior experience managing budgets with strong understanding of P&L
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Superior written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills including retail math and proficiency with financial statements and modeling
- Proven ability to balance concurrent priorities while effectively managing time and deadlines
- Independent thinker with ability to identify and present opportunities
- Demonstrates resilience and adaptability, thriving in fast-paced environments and quickly adjusting to changing priorities
- Ability to travel occasionally for market and business meetings with accounts and store visits
- Digital expertise a plus: site merchandising and understanding of digital tactics (direct load, affiliate, SEM, SEO, retargeting, display) and familiarity with paid social KPIs (CTR/CPM, Impressions, Reach, Engagement, LPR, CPC)

Experience
Prior experience in marketing, business development, account development, merchant/buying roles, digital marketing, or analytics & reporting. Direct external account or brand management and negotiations experience required.
Education
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 87,500 to USD 135,000 per annum.
