Chanel seeks Senior Manager – Business Application Owner in London to lead financial systems (Oracle, Powerplan) and drive Record-to-Report transformation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver service excellence and operational efficiency to the Finance community as primary point of contact, managing escalations and providing functional guidance across the financial systems portfolio
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement by gathering user requirements, identifying pain points, prioritizing enhancement initiatives, and translating business needs into functional specifications for technical development
- Oversee data quality management as a data steward, implementing monitoring processes, developing quality assurance frameworks, and collaborating with process owners to refine data models, chart of accounts, and financial dimensions
- Lead end-to-end project management for system implementations, upgrades, and transformations—from scope definition and requirements gathering to testing, deployment, and change management
- Design and execute comprehensive training programs and adoption strategies, including onboarding curricula for new users and advanced training pathways, informed by support ticket analysis and evolving business challenges
- Manage system access controls, license optimization, internal control compliance, and audit readiness in coordination with IT and security partners
- Develop operational reporting and dashboard strategies to enable self-service analytics and decision-making capabilities for Finance analysts and leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related discipline (MBA or CPA preferred)
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, data analytics, systems implementation, or systems administration
- Demonstrated expertise in Legal Accounting Reporting and Oracle ERP suite (FCCS, ARCS, TRCS) and Powerplan or equivalent financial reporting platforms
- Strong command of IT Service Management principles and practices
- Project management expertise across complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from initiation through closure
- Proven track record managing international and multicultural teams with experience in markets outside Europe
- Advanced analytical and data quality assessment capabilities
Skills
Experience
Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting systems, data analytics, systems administration, or IT service management. International exposure with demonstrated capability managing complex global operations across multiple geographic markets. Hands-on involvement in financial systems implementations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems required. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred. Relevant software certifications (Oracle, Powerplan, or ERP-related) are advantageous.
