Chanel seeks Senior Legal Counsel for Fragrances & Beauty Division in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. Manage IP, contracts, and creative campaigns in this permanent role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Secure campaigns, events, architectural projects, and promotional tools through comprehensive legal analysis, concept validation, rights clearance, and pragmatic agreement negotiations
- Anticipate and evaluate legal and reputational risks, propose practical solutions, and establish proactive legal strategy aligned with international regulatory requirements and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence
- Negotiate, draft, and manage complex contracts spanning audiovisual production, digital content, artist and talent agreements, licensing partnerships, and service procurement
- Coordinate project execution across international markets in collaboration with operational teams, finance, insurance, and regional legal counsel, synthesizing key challenges and enabling autonomous decision-making
- Develop legal processes, templates, and contract management tools to strengthen operational team capabilities and facilitate knowledge transfer on legal risk exposure
- Contribute to legal innovation and digitalization initiatives, including automated contract generation, contract management systems, and rights management platforms
- Anticipate, manage, and resolve claims and disputes arising from supported activities
Qualifications
- Degree in Law with specialization in Contract & Business Law, Intellectual Property, Media & Communications Law, or New Technologies
- Minimum 8 years of professional legal experience in law firms and/or international companies, preferably in high-visibility industries (luxury, communications, or advertising)
- Excellent oral and written English proficiency in an international working environment
- Advanced expertise in contract negotiation and management
- Strategic thinking combined with operational rigor and responsiveness
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Capacity to manage high-stakes, high-volume contracts with financial and reputational implications
- Project-based working methodology and willingness to challenge status quo

Experience
Minimum 8 years of professional legal experience acquired in law firms and/or international companies of significant scale, preferably in sectors with high brand impact (luxury, communications, or advertising agencies).
Education
Law degree with specialization in Contract & Business Law, Intellectual Property, Media & Communications Law, or New Technologies.
