Role & Responsibilities

  • Execute high-precision garment construction and hand-finishing according to couture and ready-to-wear specifications.
  • Perform alterations and fittings for clients and sample pieces, interpreting technical sketches and pattern instructions to achieve perfect fit.
  • Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines, overlock/serger equipment and hand-sewing tools; ensure cleanliness and serviceability of atelier equipment.
  • Work closely with designers, pattern makers and cutters to translate technical sheets into finished garments and prototypes.
  • Inspect garments at each production stage for stitch quality, seam integrity and finish; identify and rectify defects to Chanel quality standards.
  • Handle delicate fabrics (silk, chiffon, lace) and specialty materials (embellishments, leather) with appropriate techniques to prevent damage.
  • Document work progress, maintain alteration records and respect client confidentiality and brand protocols.

Qualifications

  • Excellent hand-sewing and finishing skills, including invisible hemming and couture hand-stitches.
  • Proven ability to work with delicate fabrics and specialty materials (silk, lace, leather, embellishments).
  • Strong pattern-reading skills and experience executing technical specifications and alteration requests.
  • High attention to detail, manual dexterity and a commitment to luxury-quality finishings.
  • Professional demeanour with discretion, reliability and the ability to collaborate within a small atelier team.

Experience
