Role & Responsibilities
- Execute precision sewing and hand-finishing for couture and high-end ready-to-wear garments to Chanel standards.
- Interpret patterns and technical specifications; perform complex alterations and on-site fittings with clients and atelier teams.
- Operate and maintain industrial and specialised sewing equipment (e.g., overlock, flat-bed, blind-stitch machines) and hand-stitching tools.
- Perform quality control checks at each stage of production to ensure correct fit, finish and structural integrity.
- Collaborate with pattern makers, designers and production managers to resolve fit or construction issues and implement refinements.
- Document alterations, repairs and technical adjustments; maintain accurate workmanship records and contribute to atelier best practices.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or certificate in tailoring, dressmaking or equivalent professional training.
- Proven experience in couture or luxury garment construction, with demonstrated mastery of hand-sewing techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of fabric behaviour (silk, wool, lace, leather) and appropriate handling techniques for delicate textiles.
- Exceptional eye for detail, precision in stitch work and a strong sense of proportion and finish.
- Ability to manage multiple fittings and deadlines while maintaining strict quality standards.
