Chanel in Pantin seeks a Scientific Monitoring & Valorization Apprentice (Perfumes & Beauty) starting Sept 2026. Apprenticeship role in scientific intelligence.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the scientific monitoring programme by systematically tracking academic literature, patents, regulatory updates and competitor developments relevant to perfumes and cosmetic ingredients.
- Synthesize monitoring outputs into concise, actionable reports, briefs and slide decks for R&D, regulatory, marketing and product teams.
- Contribute to the valorization of scientific assets by identifying opportunities for claims substantiation, publication, external partnerships and conference participation.
- Maintain and curate databases and dashboards used for literature tracking, patent landscaping and internal knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (R&D, regulatory affairs, marketing, IP) to translate scientific findings into product-focused recommendations.
- Assist in drafting scientific summaries, dossiers and communication materials intended for internal review or external dissemination.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a higher education programme (Master’s level or equivalent) in chemistry, cosmetic science, pharmacy, biochemistry or a related scientific discipline, with availability for an alternance/apprenticeship starting September 2026.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills with an ability to summarise complex scientific information for non-specialist audiences.
- Familiarity with literature searching, patent screening and basic bibliometric techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience preparing professional slide decks and reports.
- Autonomy, intellectual curiosity and a pragmatic approach to translating research into commercial or regulatory value.

Experience
Previous internships or laboratory experience in cosmetics R&D, scientific monitoring, regulatory affairs or a research laboratory are advantageous but not mandatory for a candidate enrolled in a relevant degree programme.
Education
Currently enrolled in a Master’s programme (or equivalent) in chemistry, cosmetic science, pharmacy, biochemistry, materials science or a closely related scientific discipline.
