CHANEL seeks a Visual Merchandising Manager dedicated to its 57th Street flagship boutique in New York, NY, to lead the boutique’s visual merchandising team and translate brand directives into polished, client-centric environments aligned with commercial priorities. The role reports on a dotted line to a Senior Manager or Group Director and requires regular in-boutique presence, flexibility for occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends or overnights, and travel to support US launches. The anticipated annual base salary is $92,400–$110,000, with potential variable pay; benefits and perks are subject to eligibility and modification.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute all visual merchandising activities within one boutique in a lighthouse market, ensuring timely and consistent implementation of brand directives.
  • Own, maintain and continuously elevate the boutique image, ensuring impeccable presentation standards across client-facing areas.
  • Manage, guide and develop the boutique visual merchandising team, setting clear priorities, accountability and consistent ways of working.
  • Translate visual merchandising directives and strategic guidance into engaging, client-centric displays relevant to the boutique and aligned with the CHANEL brand vision.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on directive implementation, execution opportunities and boutique-specific needs.
  • Partner with boutique leadership and staff to align visual merchandising execution with sales priorities, client needs and broader business goals.
  • Assess changing business needs, adapt visual solutions and realign activities while protecting brand standards.
  • Facilitate visual merchandising training, morning meeting briefs and ongoing visual education for boutique teams.
  • Identify and respond promptly to boutique-specific opportunities, using sound judgment and resourcefulness to deliver effective solutions.
  • Take personal responsibility for the boutique’s visual appearance, execution quality and readiness.
  • Maintain impeccable visual standards throughout the boutique, with close attention to detail, presentation quality and overall coherence.
  • Communicate proactively with boutique staff, boutique leadership and visual merchandising leadership; implement feedback quickly and adapt as priorities change.

  • Support US launches outside the home market as business needs require.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends or overnights, to support visual installations and business needs.
  • Maintain regular in-boutique presence; stand for extended periods and lift and move visual merchandising materials as needed, in accordance with applicable policies and accommodations.
  • Travel by airplane, train and automobile as required; hold a valid driver’s license and passport, have a reliable car for local travel and car insurance where applicable.
  • Lift 30–40 lbs.
