Chanel seeks a Regulatory Affairs Expert (CDD) in Paris to manage fashion product compliance and PRSL governance across international markets.
Role & Responsibilities
- Monitor international regulatory requirements across Europe, USA, China, Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia concerning fashion substances, materials, and articles
- Analyze regulatory impacts on collections, materials, components, and manufacturing processes
- Translate regulatory requirements into operational fashion standards, supplier specifications, and testing guidelines
- Serve as expert reference for managing and resolving regulatory non-conformities identified during development and post-market
- Contribute to quality and regulatory arbitration decisions regarding collections
- Define, update, and govern the PRSL in alignment with international regulations, market requirements, and internal Maison standards
- Structure and maintain comprehensive PRSL documentation including substances, limits, scope of application, and product perimeters
- Ensure PRSL alignment with chemical testing plans, material standards, and supplier requirements
- Coordinate with internal and external laboratories for PRSL testing implementation and evolution
- Support Product, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams in operationalizing PRSL requirements
- Serve as key liaison between international markets and Regulatory Affairs on PRSL and local compliance matters
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Development, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Legal departments
- Contribute to process definition and continuous improvement of Regulatory Affairs procedures
- Provide training and build competency across teams on regulatory and PRSL-related matters
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Textiles, Leather, Quality, or Regulatory Affairs
- 5 to 10 years of confirmed experience in product regulatory affairs, preferably in fashion, textiles, leather goods, or demanding industrial environments
- Demonstrated expertise in substance/chemical regulations and restricted substances lists (PRSL, RSL, REACH)
- Excellent knowledge of international fashion product regulations
- Expert understanding of chemical substances, materials, and finished articles
- Proven ability to structure and manage PRSL-type reference frameworks
- Strong documentary rigor and attention to detail
- Ability to work cross-functionally in complex international environments
- Fluent English (written and oral)

Experience
5 to 10 years of confirmed experience in product regulatory affairs, ideally within fashion, textiles, leather goods, or rigorous industrial sectors. Candidates must demonstrate established expertise in chemical and substance regulations, including PRSL, RSL, and REACH frameworks, with proven capability to manage complex regulatory environments and cross-functional international teams.
Education
Master's degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Textiles, Leather, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, or related field.
