Chanel seeks a Regional Head of Intellectual Property & Brand Protection in Croydon to lead anti-counterfeiting and IP enforcement strategy.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead regional IP and brand protection strategy, ensuring alignment with global Chanel standards and legal requirements
- Develop and implement anti-counterfeiting and enforcement programs across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels
- Coordinate with customs authorities, law enforcement agencies, and third-party enforcement partners on border control and market surveillance
- Manage intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution processes
- Oversee brand protection budgets and resource allocation across the region
- Conduct investigations into suspected counterfeiting and unauthorized sales
- Report to senior management on IP infringement trends, enforcement actions, and strategic recommendations
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in intellectual property law, brand protection, or anti-counterfeiting operations
- Demonstrated success managing regional or multi-country IP compliance programs
- Strong understanding of trademark law, trade secret protection, and e-commerce intellectual property issues
- Established relationships with government agencies, law enforcement, and customs authorities
- Track record of successfully defending brand interests and reducing counterfeiting incidence
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in intellectual property, brand protection, legal affairs, or related compliance functions, with at least 5 years in a regional leadership capacity
Education
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field; LLM in Intellectual Property Law or equivalent professional qualification preferred
