Chanel seeks a Raw Materials Safety Manager in Pantin to ensure the safety of raw materials and packaging. Requires a PhD in a relevant field and over 10 years of experience.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of raw materials and packaging by adhering to international standards and integrating new risk assessment methodologies (NAM/NGRA).
  • Define safety policies and toxicological evaluation strategies for raw materials.
  • Lead and develop a team of two toxicologists.
  • Oversee the continuous update of toxicological profiles, incorporating regulatory and scientific advancements.
  • Represent Chanel in technical groups and with external partners, maintaining active scientific and regulatory surveillance.
  • Collaborate closely with Innovation, Regulatory Affairs, Formulation, Packaging, Purchasing teams, and external experts.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree (PhD or equivalent) in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or pharmacy with a specialization in human toxicology.

Skills

Proven expertise in safety evaluation of chemical substances (cosmetic, pharmaceutical, chemical, food industries). Experience in managing complex projects and leading teams. Proficiency in international regulations, OECD toxicological tests, and alternative methods (NAM/NGRA). Strong leadership, scientific rigor, collaborative spirit, curiosity, and digital tool proficiency.

Experience

Over 10 years of confirmed experience in chemical substance safety evaluation, project management, and team leadership.

Education

PhD or equivalent in a relevant scientific field.
