Chanel R&I Formulator position in Seoul, Korea — develop innovative luxury cosmetic formulations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and formulate innovative cosmetic and fragrance products according to Chanel's creative briefs and technical specifications
- Conduct comprehensive stability, compatibility, and efficacy testing on new formulations
- Collaborate with creative directors, product development teams, and quality assurance to refine and optimize formulas
- Document all formulation processes, test results, and regulatory compliance data with meticulous attention to detail
- Monitor industry trends and emerging ingredients to ensure formulations remain competitive and aligned with luxury market standards
- Ensure all products meet Chanel's heritage standards for safety, efficacy, and sensorial excellence
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in cosmetic or fragrance formulation
- Expert knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, raw materials, and their functional properties
- Proficiency with formulation software and laboratory equipment
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards (ISO, GMP, EU Cosmetics Regulation, Korean regulations)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in cosmetic, fragrance, or personal care formulation, preferably within a luxury beauty brand or premium cosmetics house.
Education
Advanced degree (Master's preferred) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related discipline.
