Chanel seeks a Quality Control Consultant — Footwear in Florence (Osmannoro) to lead factory inspections and uphold footwear quality standards.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define, implement and enforce Chanel footwear quality standards across incoming, in‑process and final inspections at supplier sites.
- Lead factory quality audits and supplier assessments in the Osmannoro/Florence production hub, including inspection sampling (AQL) and scorecarding.
- Identify non-conformances, perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and internal product teams.
- Review technical packs, materials and construction methods to ensure compliance with brand specifications and durability requirements.
- Coordinate third‑party testing and interpret laboratory results for physical, dimensional and material performance tests.
- Produce clear, data-driven quality reports and KPI dashboards for product, sourcing and senior management stakeholders.
- Deliver supplier training on Chanel quality protocols and monitor implementation of continuous improvement plans.
- Support cross-functional escalation on complex quality issues during pre-production and production ramps.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in footwear quality control within premium or luxury brands or tier-1 suppliers.
- Deep understanding of footwear construction, lasts, sole attachment methods and material behaviour.
- Strong experience with inspection methodologies (AQL), factory audits and supplier corrective action processes.
- Demonstrable ability to read and evaluate technical packs, tolerances and dimensional drawings.
- Proven capability to lead root-cause analysis (8D/CAPA/FMEA) and follow through on corrective plans.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to supplier sites in Italy and internationally.
Skills
Experience
Typically 5+ years of direct experience in footwear quality assurance or quality control, ideally within luxury or premium footwear manufacturing and with hands-on factory auditing experience.
Education
Technical diploma or degree in footwear technology, materials science, industrial engineering or equivalent practical experience in footwear manufacturing.
