About Chanel
Chanel is a privately held global maison renowned for haute couture, ready-to-wear, leather goods and beauty. The brand combines artisanal craftsmanship with industrial excellence across an international network of ateliers and suppliers, operating within the broader luxury goods landscape.
Chanel in Paris seeks a Production Planner (permanent) to manage production scheduling, MRP and supplier coordination for luxury apparel and leather goods.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-, mid- and long-term production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of collections and seasonal lines.
- Translate sales forecasts and commercial orders into production plans, balancing capacity, lead times and material availability.
- Manage material requirements planning (MRP) and master production scheduling in the ERP system; create and follow up on purchase orders and production orders.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with sourcing, product development, quality assurance, manufacturing partners and logistics to resolve production exceptions.
- Monitor key operational KPIs (OTD, lead times, inventory turns, scrap rates) and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise throughput and reduce bottlenecks.
- Implement contingency plans for capacity constraints or supply disruptions and communicate impacts to stakeholders and commercial teams.
- Maintain accurate production data, forecasts and reports for leadership reviews and S&OP cycles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, industrial engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Professional proficiency in production planning processes, MRP and capacity planning methodologies.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with sourcing, manufacturing and commercial teams in a matrix environment.
- Strong analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros) and experience using an ERP (e.g., SAP) for planning.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the capacity to manage competing priorities under tight timelines.
- Comfortable with change management and continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, Kaizen) in a manufacturing context.
- Fluency in French is highly desirable given the Paris-based role; business-level English is advantageous.
