Chanel seeks Product Compliance Counsel in Paris to ensure regulatory compliance across global product portfolio in cosmetics, fashion, and jewelry.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and monitor international regulatory and normative developments to ensure product compliance across all markets, and proactively communicate major evolutions to internal stakeholders
  • Advise divisions throughout the product development lifecycle from conception through marketing collateral approval, ensuring regulatory compliance, accuracy of claims (labels, packaging, origin statements, certifications), and consistency of consumer-facing information
  • Serve as primary contact during administrative inspections, prepare for regulatory audits, and manage product-related disputes and consumer complaints
  • Author practical guidance documents and compliance frameworks to facilitate understanding of regulatory requirements among operational teams
  • Analyze compliance-related claims and develop corrective action plans to protect both Chanel's interests and consumer safety
  • Oversee consumer protection legal matters, manage terms and conditions (CGU/CGV), and integrate regulatory compliance into contracts with partners, suppliers, and service providers to ensure legal security of all operations

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in law (business law, consumer law, product compliance specialization, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar function, ideally in luxury, fashion, or distribution sectors
  • Solid knowledge of international regulations (EU, US, Asia, Middle East) applicable to consumer products; cosmetics sector knowledge a plus
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English
  • Strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, teamwork orientation, and excellent interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration with creative and technical teams
  • Ability to communicate complex compliance topics effectively to non-legal audiences
