Chanel seeks a Pattern Maker in Verneuil-en-Halatte, France — experienced patternmaking role within couture and premium ready-to-wear ateliers.
Role & Responsibilities
- Translate designer sketches and toiles into precise paper and digitised patterns for couture and ready-to-wear collections.
- Drape, draft and grade patterns to ensure correct fit, silhouette and proportion across sizes and production runs.
- Produce and refine prototypes and toiles in close collaboration with design, fitting and sewing ateliers.
- Prepare clear technical specifications and pattern markers for sample rooms and production partners.
- Conduct iterative fittings, diagnose construction issues and implement pattern corrections to achieve targeted fit and quality.
- Adapt patterns for different materials and complex constructions typical of luxury garments (linings, understructures, embellishments).
- Maintain and organise pattern archives, version control and technical dossiers for each style.
- Liaise with production teams to ensure manufacturability, tolerance adherence and cost-aware pattern solutions.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or degree in pattern making, fashion technology, industrial pattern cutting, or equivalent apprenticeship.
- Demonstrable experience in luxury fashion — experience in couture or premium ready-to-wear is highly desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of draping, flat pattern drafting, grading methods and garment construction techniques.
- Strong eye for detail, exceptional fitting and alteration skills, and proven ability to deliver consistent high-quality samples.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with designers, ateliers and production partners.

Experience
Several years of hands-on patternmaking experience within luxury apparel — ideally encompassing both couture and industrial-ready-to-wear contexts, with direct involvement in fittings and sample development.
Education
Diploma or vocational qualification in pattern making, fashion technology, or equivalent apprenticeship experience.

The successful candidate will be located in Verneuil-en-Halatte, Hauts-de-France, France, with easy access to Paris.
