Chanel seeks an experienced Paralegal Assistant for its Legal Affairs Department in Paris to manage contracts and legal operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational tracking and updates of legal matters through designated tools (ALM, iManage, Power Apps, SharePoint) from initial case assignment through contract execution
  • Establish and coordinate contract validation and signature workflows in alignment with internal teams, external parties, and established contracts policy
  • Autonomously manage delegated contract applications based on framework agreements, purchase orders, and standard amendments within established contractual policies
  • Participate in knowledge management initiatives including training programmes, legal tool dissemination, and expertise sharing across operational and legal audiences
  • Advance legal operations digitalization through process optimization recommendations, workflow improvements, and exploration of innovative technologies including automation and AI tools
  • Adopt legal design principles to enhance tool accessibility, intuitive workflow design, and process efficiency across the department
  • Maintain activity tracking dashboards and contribute to departmental reporting and analytics
  • Prepare professional presentation materials and executive summaries (PowerPoint, analytical documents)
  • Support strategic departmental projects and initiatives under the General Counsel's direction

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of successful professional experience in a law firm, legal technology consulting, or in-house legal department
  • Advanced technical and legal training (law degree required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven expertise with legal case management systems (ALM or equivalent platforms)
  • Fluent written and spoken English enabling intervention in an international environment
  • Advanced knowledge of international contract law, ESG considerations, innovation, and circular economy principles
  • Understanding of extra-financial reporting, international and sectoral regulatory frameworks
