Chanel — Chamant: Contract Packaging Sector Manager (Lipsticks) for a 7-month mission to lead lipstick packaging operations and quality.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all packaging operations for the lipstick product line at the Chamant site during the seven‑month assignment, ensuring on-time production and line efficiency.
  • Manage packaging process validation, product finishing and cosmetic appearance standards specific to lipsticks (assembly, filling, casing, closures and finishing).
  • Ensure strict compliance with quality, hygiene and regulatory requirements for cosmetic packaging in collaboration with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives (OEE, waste reduction, first-pass yield).
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with R&D, supply chain, procurement, maintenance and external packaging suppliers to support launches, product changes and material qualifications.
  • Maintain production documentation, SOPs and batch records; produce regular KPI and status reports for stakeholders.
  • Supervise, coach and schedule packaging operators or subcontracted teams as required for the mission period.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing packaging operations within cosmetics, personal care or FMCG manufacturing, ideally with exposure to lipstick/colour cosmetics formats.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging equipment and assembly lines (filling, capping, insertion, finishing) and of packaging material qualifications.
  • Familiarity with cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality control processes and regulatory packaging requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects, manage external suppliers and deliver on tight production timelines.
  • Fluent professional communication and reporting skills; ability to work in a bilingual production environment is an asset.

Experience

Technical diploma or degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, cosmetic science or a related discipline; formal training in manufacturing operations or quality systems is advantageous.
