Chanel seeks Materials Compliance Engineer for Packaging in Pantin, France (12-month contract). Oversee regulatory compliance and homologation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Homologate and approve packaging materials for finished products in accordance with brand strategy and eco-design principles
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive materials database in collaboration with the packaging compatibility manager to ensure full traceability of material information
  • Engage with raw materials and packaging suppliers to identify material composition and potential impurities across all packaging constituents (materials, inks, varnishes, adhesives, processing additives, etc.)
  • Serve as the primary interface between packaging development and internal expert laboratories for toxicological and regulatory materials assessment
  • Support regulatory compliance initiatives aligned with purchasing and packaging development strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree +5 years or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in plastic materials engineering or related field
  • Multi-materials knowledge (glass, aluminium, etc.) highly valued
  • Expertise in packaging materials and perfumes & cosmetics product requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capability
