Chanel seeks a Packaging Compliance Technician in Pantin for the Perfumes & Beauty division; permanent role managing packaging approvals and regulatory conformity.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage packaging homologation and approval processes for perfumes and beauty products, ensuring conformity with internal technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and follow up on material and component testing (compatibility, stability, migration, barrier properties) with internal laboratories and external test houses.
- Review and validate packaging technical dossiers, specifications and artwork files; ensure version control within the PLM system.
- Liaise with R&D, regulatory affairs, suppliers and manufacturing to resolve non-conformities and accelerate corrective actions.
- Create and maintain documentation required for product launches, audits and regulatory inspections (test reports, certificates, declarations of conformity).
- Contribute to supplier qualification and packaging supplier technical assessments.
- Support sustainability initiatives related to packaging (recyclability, material reduction, eco-design) during homologation and design reviews.
- Participate in cross-functional launch meetings and provide technical packaging expertise to project teams.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering, materials science, chemistry, industrial engineering or equivalent.
- Practical knowledge of cosmetic and fragrance packaging materials (glass, plastics, closures, paperboard) and their manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for cosmetics and fragrances and of testing methodologies (stability, compatibility, migration).
- Demonstrated experience with packaging specifications, artwork control and technical dossier preparation.
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet launch deadlines.
- Fluent in French; professional working proficiency in English is advantageous.

Experience
Typically 2–5 years’ experience in packaging engineering, packaging homologation or quality/regulatory functions within cosmetics, perfumery or a closely related FMCG environment.
Education
Technical diploma (BTS/DUT) or bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering, materials science, chemistry, industrial engineering or equivalent.
