Chanel in Chamant seeks a Microbiology Laboratory Technician (work-study) for Parfums Beauté, starting Sept 2026.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute routine microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples and finished goods (culture-based methods, plate counts, membrane filtration as applicable).
- Perform environmental monitoring and hygiene controls for laboratory and production areas to ensure contamination risks are identified and mitigated.
- Carry out sample preparation, sterile handling and incubation, and monitor instrument operation (incubators, autoclaves, microscopes).
- Record, validate and enter analytical results into laboratory documentation and electronic systems in accordance with GMP and internal procedures.
- Support investigations of non-conformities and assist senior staff with corrective actions, stability studies and product release activities.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, reagent inventories and calibration/maintenance logs; comply with health, safety and biosafety rules.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an accredited French technical or scientific programme (BTS, DUT, Licence professionnelle or equivalent) in microbiology, biotechnology, cosmetic sciences or a related discipline.
- Practical understanding of aseptic technique and standard microbiological methods taught in higher-education laboratory courses.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and basic laboratory safety and biosafety principles.
- Organised, methodical approach with strong attention to documentation and traceability.
Skills
Experience
No prior professional experience is required; previous laboratory internships, practical coursework or hands-on training in microbiology techniques are advantageous.
Education
Currently enrolled in a BTS, DUT, Licence professionnelle or equivalent in microbiology, biotechnology, cosmetic sciences or a closely related field (work-study/alternance programme).
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Chamant, Hauts-de-France, France, with easy access to Paris.
