Chanel in Chamant seeks a Methods Engineer (Powder Processes, Apprenticeship) for Parfums & Beauté — alternance role in industrialisation and process optimisation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support industrialisation and scale-up of powder formulations from laboratory to production scale, under the guidance of senior methods engineers.
  • Define, document and optimise manufacturing methods, work instructions and standard operating procedures for powder processes.
  • Plan and execute pilot and production trials; collect and analyse process data to assess capability and robustness.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful product transfers and stable manufacturing runs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects (5S/Kaizen, waste reduction, productivity gains) specific to powder handling and dosing.
  • Perform risk analyses (FMEA) and root-cause investigations for process deviations; propose corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support equipment set-up, changeovers and basic maintenance coordination, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and traceability records in accordance with cosmetic industry standards and internal quality systems.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an engineering or technical degree (BSc/MSc) in Chemical, Process, Materials, Mechanical or Cosmetic Engineering as part of an alternance/apprenticeship program.
  • Solid theoretical knowledge of powder technology, particle handling and mixing/dosing equipment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing quality systems and regulatory requirements applicable to cosmetics.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret process data and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Strong organisational skills and capacity to manage concurrent trials and documentation tasks.
