Chanel Metallurgical Components Engineer, Florence, Italy – CDI role overseeing quality and reliability of metal components in luxury fashion production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct risk analysis assessments on metal components destined for premium finished products and propose counter-analyses
- Evaluate vulnerabilities of metal components from development phase to production, accounting for specific quality and durability requirements
- Determine appropriate testing protocols for each component, analyze results, and formalize findings
- Execute on-site production surveillance at supplier facilities during industrialization and testing phases
- Ensure design and conception reliability of all recurring metal components
- Study test results in collaboration with supplier technical teams
- Identify and propose action plans for risk elimination, plan-to-part adequacy studies, and production sample analyses
- Conduct technological surveillance to remain informed of technical and regulatory developments
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as a quality engineer, materials and metallurgy engineer, or production engineer in the luxury sector
- Proficiency in drafting clear and detailed analysis reports
- Knowledge of quality standards and technical specifications related to metallurgy
- Familiarity with physical and chemical testing requirements for metal components
- Mastery of principal metallurgical production processes
- Ability to read and analyze technical drawings and 3D design plans
- Knowledge of surface finish inspection control using a master standard
- Proficiency in IT tools, preferably PLM/ERP/LIMS systems and 3D software such as Solidworks
Skills
Experience
3–5 years as a quality engineer, metallurgy and materials engineer, or production engineer within the luxury sector, with demonstrated expertise in metal component analysis and supplier oversight.
Education
Advanced engineering degree in materials science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, or equivalent professional qualification.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Florence, Tuscany, Italy.
